After 'I Do'

Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!

Welcome!

Done & Done! Kristen’s College Senior Sesh

I live in San Francisco, which I LOVE…BUT, I don’t think I get out of my bubble enough!  Having back to back shoots outside the bubble was a real eye opening treat!  I mean, just outside SF there is a whole world of beauty just waiting to be explored, and in my case used as the perfect canvas.  As I was driving to Kristen’s house in Watsonville, Ca, my jaw was fixed hanging open as I drove through rolling hills of wildflowers and white rustic fences, horses, and endless views of countryside.  I felt like I wanted to get out of the car and post my flag on a piece of land!  So when I pulled into the driveway of  beautiful countryside home with a man made pond, an old boat, horses, an awesome barn door, and cows, I thought to myself, “Yup, I have found photographer’s paradise!”  Oh and  have also discovered yet another place I want to live someday!  Not only has photography been a gift in my life because of the amazing people that I have been able to meet, but also because it gives me the opportunity to take pictures in some of God’s most beautiful works of art!

I was very excited for Kristen’s session!  She is almost done with college and moving on to a future of wide open possibilities!  It is a strange time in life as I remember.  The pressure to have the perfect answer to that dreaded question, “So what are your career plans for after graduation?”  Ugh!  Thankfully I could answer confidently that I was off to travel to Australia…but sometimes that just didn’t seem like enough.  Kristen and I both majored in Psychology so I could relate to her doubts about how to proceed as well as the anxiety of what is next.  The thing that is hard to realize in the moment as a graduating senior, is that not having the answer is a breath of fresh air.  It leaves the door open to possibilities unimaginable!  I never would have guessed that not having the answer at graduation would later lead to fashion design school and even later lead to finding my Passion: Photography.  Kristen, unlike myself at graduation, has a good plan in place that could lead to anywhere, and those are the best kind to have!  She is a beautiful person both inside and out and I hope that we can keep in touch so I can witness the great things she will go on to achieve.  Here’s to new beginnings and the excitement of the unknown!!
