Well, it is incredibly hard to imagine that this was my first photo shoot in 13 months due to Covid AND giving birth to twin baby boys! With most of my 2019 weddings getting pushed to 2020 everything seemed very uncertain. But, boy did it feel good to be back out there doing what brings me so much joy! Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOOVE being a mom and caring for our kids, but holy cow…a girl needs her ME time! It’s been a loooong 9 months of surviving 4 kids, 4 and under, during a pandemic, with zero personal time or outlets. I swear, I went through all the phases of grief with photography, wondering if I’d ever shoot another wedding. I needed this engagement session like like a flower needs water. A part of myself that I had put on the back-burner, came back to life when I met this amazing couple for their engagement session!
Caroline and Corbett arrived to Baker Beach looking like they had just stepped out of a catalog. Such a beautiful couple! They both had such warm smiles and I knew instantly that kindness and love were weaved into the fabric of who they are. Making them even more amazing, was that they were game for anything I threw their way even if it meant getting soaked in the ocean…which was purely nature’s fault…and kinda mine 😉 I could tell they were having so much fun together and really living in the moment. I never would have guessed that this care-free couple had a huge amount of stress on their plate, wondering if their upcoming March wedding would take place. It warmed my heart to receive their email filled with gratitude explaining that the photo shoot had brought them so much joy and gave them a chance to celebrate their engagement in a way they had not been able to do yet. I loved every second of it too, and cannot wait to see you guys again at your wedding!
