Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!
They walked in, looked around, and within minutes were ready to head for the exit. Â After all, the bar was a dud and there were no good looking guys anywhere. Â So Delilah and her friends decided to bee line it for a more happening spot..until, like a false pool of water in a barren desert, they spotted him on the other side of the bar. Â They had to move closer to make sure it wasn’t a mirage. Â When they approached him Delilah and Hershel immediately hit it off as though they had been waiting their whole lives for that mirage across the room to be real…a partner for life. Â More poems by Heather Scharf coming soon.
Hershel lived in Dallas and Delilah in Houston so by no means was this going to be an easy courtship. Â Speaking from experience with surviving 2 years of long distance myself, I know that if you make it through it you are a stronger couple in the end. Â Surprisingly enough you come to know each other on a deeper level because all you have is the phone Monday through Friday to hang out with each other. Â It is a test of love for sure, but the rewards far out way the pain endured from saying goodbye to the one you love weekend after weekend. Â They are the sweetest duo and I just know that their wedding was the kickstart to a amazing future together in the same city! Â Together at Last!
Delilah and Hershel found me through a friend of theirs also from Texas, who was a bridesmaid in a wedding I did in Newport.  When I spoke with Hershel about doing their wedding I was so incredibly excited that they wanted me to capture their day instead of a local photographer.  That meant the world to me and I feel so blessed that I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding outside my stomping grounds and meet this exceptional couple.  When Matt and I arrived at Agave Real In Katy, Texas last weekend, we were both blown away (literally) at how windy it was!  I thought surely the wedding would have to be held indoors as the winds were up to 40mph!  As it turns out, the only thing the wind ruined that day was Matt’s golf game 🙂  It was barely noticeable within the adobe walls of the venue, although some of my favorite photos are when the wind took hold of Delilah’s veil!  The grounds were absolutely breath taking and rich with rustic color and ambiance .  I just loved how the bridesmaid’s dresses and Delilah’s wedding dress popped against the clay walls.  This wedding will forever hold a special place in my heart…much the same as Texas BBQ does…hmmmm!
