It was love at first Skype…when I first met Jaclyn and PJ.  They were in their Chicago apartment and I in my SF apartment.  We laughed, shared stories, and a few short months later, I got to photograph their wedding!  These two can best be described as a bright light filled with so much joy.  Amazingness just oozes out of them. Being a part of their wedding was a true gift; a chance to witness everything that marriage is about…becoming a union in front of friends, family and the Lord.
Enough about how I feel…the real love story began between Jaclyn & PJ at a Thanksgiving potluck at their church.  Things normally don’t get stolen at church, but that night while Jaclyn stepped away, PJ stole her chair.  When she returned, this handsome man was there to her surprise! They started chatting and the seed was planted for something magical to grow in the coming months when he would yet again steal something else…her heart.  He would never forget that first night he laid eyes on her.  She was wearing a blue skirt, white shirt, and the reddest lipstick money can buy! After over a year of dating, PJ suggested they go ride bikes and fly kites.  If that isn’t the world’s cutest date idea, then I don’t know what is!  There was a bike ride, but actually there weren’t any kites to Jaclyn’s confusion…something much better was planned…a proposal!  She said YES and the rest is history!
It was her red lips and that monumental bike ride that inspired them for their wedding theme.  They had the cutest bicycle decor throughout the venue including bronze tires hanging from a handmade wooden arch with the guests seating cards attached, bicycle bottle openers for the favors, a wire bike cake topper, and of course a tandem bike for them to ride off into the night after the reception!  I loved the flower ribbon boutonnieres, navy suspenders, and the multi colored ties the guys wore!  The girls had navy lace dresses with colorful bouquets that matched the ties and bright feeling of the day.  All the girls wore heels in a color that reminded them of Jaclyn.  For example, the yellow heels were chosen because her friend’s nickname for Jaclyn is “Sundrop”.  Such a creative idea!  The guys made the alter out of wood they found while camping in Yosemite.  They draped tons of colorful ribbons from the alter creating a beautiful backdrop for their vows.  In addition, all the flowers were made by their friends!  Such a gorgeous day with lots of creative flavor!
Congrats Jaclyn & PJ!
