Let me start by saying, it was a HUGE honor to be able to shoot this wedding.  Getting to know Jessica has been a gift to me in more ways than one.  In fact, I think all of Jessica’s friends could say the same thing because she is “So Fun!” and is such a beautiful person inside and out. I first met her while photographing her brother’s wedding.  She contacted me on facebook after the wedding to say that she looked me up to see if I was a Christian because of the “genuine joy I exuded”.  Weddings get me every time…I can’t help but smile from ear to ear while I shoot.  I feel so thankful that my passion happens to be capturing the most beautiful gift He gives us: marriage.  So when Jessica asked if I could be there to capture her wedding I was ecstatic.

Jessica found her someone special at a party her friends were throwing.  She saw this new handsome face from across the room and before she knew it, they were chatting and hitting it off.  As she and Jordan started to get to know each other she was beginning to realize  how special he was.  Christian, intelligent, driven, and handsome…a dream come true, a gift from God.  After a year and a half of dating he took her to Tahoe for her birthday.  Being a very adventurous, athletic and well traveled couple, coming to Tahoe was the perfect place to take her.  Little did she know that this was the weekend Jordan would profess his love for her and propose!  Jordan and Jessica hadn’t spoken much of marriage so there was no way Jessica knew what was coming.  As they walked towards the end of a pier on the lake, he was waiting for her to say those words he could always count on hearing, “You are my FAVORITE.”  So when Jessica told him those endearing words, he responded for the first time, “…And I Love you.”  Butterflies, waves of emotion, weak knees and tears followed…well I can’t be sure all of that happened to Jessica, but those were my emotions as she told me the story.  He then got on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.  I live for proposal stories…I just want to get in my Snuggie, drink some wine, and hear love stories all day!

Nine weeks later, thanks to their HUGE and amazingly creative and supportive group of friends, Jessica and Jordan got married!  They had a gorgeous wedding at Saratoga Springs with so many beautiful details that really suited their love for life, adventure and travel.  Throughout all of the preparation, the only thing that they were focusing on was each other.  Jessica didn’t seem to care about any other details…just that she was marrying the man of her dreams.  This wedding was so pure…a comittment before God, friends, and family and putting all the traditions and things that society tells us we need at a wedding on the back burner. With that said, it was one of the most beautiful weddings surrounded by tall trees, twinkle lights and special touches of Faith, Hope, and Love.
