As many of you may know, I come from a very goofy family…a family I wouldn’t trade the world for. Â I grew up with 3 brothers, so my goal was to be one of the boys to fit in. Â Sometimes that meant asking for a woofle bat and ball for Christmas instead of a doll. Â I used to wish for another sister all the time, but now looking back, I realize that being the only girl is quite an amazing gift. Â I learned to spit, burp, and most importantly learned the importance of competition for survival in my house. Â Sports became my world! Â You name it, I played it! Â In college the sports competitiveness turned to academics. Â I never missed class…yes, I was a school nerd, but I believed that good grades would land a good job someday. Â Haha! Â That theory was a joke! Â Even though I graduated with honors with a degree in Psychology, I had no idea what on earth that was supposed to mean for me. Â So I did what every college grad should do…I went traveling for 3 months! Â Best time ever! Â Who would of thought that I would meet a guy named Matt in Byron Bay, Australia, reconnect with him 3 years later and merry him! Â That is why life is so great! Â You never know where your life experiences will take you. Â Who would have thought that I would end up being a photographer because I had a bad experience with my own wedding photographer? Â What a blessing in disguise that turned out to be! Â It is amazing how many times unfortunate things happen to us, Â yet somehow He finds a way to make good of it all! Â I am so thankful for the gift that photography has brought to my life. Â I have this new energy and passion that was lost. Â It is a gift to be able to photograph my family on these rare occasions when the ENTIRE crew can get together. Â It is always a riot when it happens, and I was not about to miss a single moment of craziness this weekend in Santa Cruz. Â Happy Birthday Mom! Â Can’t wait for the next shindig in Santa Cruz! Â Oh and I am kind of obsessed with my 3 mini mes! Â The youngest is my clone who I rarely get to see…so the below pics are focused on her cuz I couldn’t get enough! Â I am starting to wonder if my 3 nieces will look more like me than my own kids!
Jumping Rope with Seaweed! Â That’s my girl!
2 of my brothers and hubby competing, of course, to see who can jump the highest…I guess we will never know! Â I would have to say Matt though, notice how high his feet get off the sand! Â I secretly LOVE it when Matt beats my brothers at something…cuz God knows I sure can’t!
The Birthday Girl with her youngest grandchild
My dad and Matt jump roping together! Â Brace yourself…My dad is a hoot! Â He has the energy and spirit of a teenager and the soul of an old wise man!
LOL! Â See what I am saying?! Â I think the story of Heather is starting to come in clear now 🙂 Â haha! Â Life’s too short not to have a piggy back ride!
And if you were wondering what I looked like as a 2 year old, look no further!
