After 'I Do'

Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!

Welcome!

SO. MUCH. FUN hanging with these two during their engagement session! I knew they would be my type of people from our phone call over a year ago, and was super stoked that they were equally amazing to photograph! They both work in law enforcement and met at work. Andrew saw Courtney and thought she was super cute. He probably went through several different scenarios on how to ask his coworker out without it being too awkward. I think he came up with a great plan! He asked her if there was a day she wanted to take off that he could cover for her. She in turn filled out the request form with her number on it and put it in his mailbox. She must have thought he was cute too since she added her number to the form ūüôā He then took that opportunity to start calling her and eventually asked her out to dinner. My favorite part is that she showed up in sweatpants! Haha! What guy wouldn’t want a low maintenance girl after all? They hit it off and a few years later he took her to a secluded beach up north where they camped with their dog Bailey. Andrew brought the same meal they had on their first date (which is SUPER sweet that he remembered what they ordered!) and after he put out the food he got down on one knee and said ‚ÄúWill you?‚ÄĚ I love that he was so nervous that his whole prepared proposal stopped after 2 words! Luckily she totally got what he was trying to accomplish and said “YES!”

OH My Goodness, I seriously love these two!¬† They pretty much sum up everything that the word “Love” means with just one look into each other’s eyes!¬† They are like two peas in a pod, like butter and popcorn, like wine and cheese…you get the point!¬† One is just not the same without the other.¬† […]

I was so thrilled when Jenna reached out about her wedding since I’d met her a year prior shooting her sister’s wedding. ¬†I love it when I get to photograph multiple events for a family. ¬†In a way I start to feel like part of the gang and it feels good both a photographer and a friend at a wedding. ¬†If anything stood out to me about Jenna and Mike when we first met, it was their undeniable love for each other. ¬†They exchanged snuggles and looks of admiration as they told me their love story, and I knew right then that they would be so easy to photograph. ¬†I was right! ¬†They go together like wine and cheese (yes please!) and were so comfortable with each other and the camera, that all I had to do was snap away!

When Jenna and Mike asked for my help on choosing an Engagement Session location, Fort Baker was the first place to come to mind! ¬†In my opinion, it is the forgotten Golden Gate Bridge viewing spot and yet it is such a spectacular location as you are almost under the bridge! ¬†But as San Francisco summers would have it, there was no bridge in site for our photo shoot! ¬†Darn you Karl! (what SFers named the fog) I am so glad the misty air and fog didn’t discourage them as it turned out to be a gorgeous day in its own right. ¬†We started at Fort Baker and took advantage of the textured walls and what little slice of the Golden Gate Bridge there was. ¬†It wasn’t until we got to the Marin Headlands where the fog really came to life and put to sleep everything within it’s reach. ¬†We couldn’t see more than a few yards in front of us and needless to say the bridge was nowhere to be seen. Regardless, we had a good time and made the most of Karl’s little shenanigans. ¬†Congrats Jenna & Mike!
