I never really considered myself an emotional person. Â That is, until recently. Â Something about being 30 has weakened my strength to hold back the flood gates. Â It is not unusual for me to get that choked up feeling when the bride is walking down the aisle with her father. Â I dreamed of my father walking me down the aisle my whole life and when it actually happened the moment couldn’t have been more perfect. Â Kelly and Joel’s wedding however, brought out a whole new level of emotions for me that I have yet to display at a wedding. Â I am not ashamed of it. Â The amazing, pure, unconditional love that I witnessed throughout the day was such a blessing to be a part of. Â The way Joel looks at Kelly and even speaks about her when she is not around should be the standard for what every woman deserves. Â I wasn’t going into the “getting ready” shots expecting to cry. Â But when Van from Ocean Blue Videography took a few minutes to ask Kelly what she loved about Joel the tears came. Â Kelly was crying and I was in the corner of the room hiding my tears as she poured out her love for Joel. Â I go
t to experience that same love all over again when Van asked Joel the same questions in his hotel room. Â This time was the same, only Van was tearing up behind her video camera. Â It was such a beautiful thing to experience and I know everyone who got to be there for those moments will always cherish them. Â This is why I love my job. Â I get to relive every couple’s unique and very special love story.
I have known Kelly since college. Â She was a year ahead of me in school, but I remember always admiring her confidence, poise, and beauty. Â I knew Kelly was going to make a gorgeous bride, but when I saw her for the first time in her dress I don’t think the word ‘gorgeous’ could have done her justice. Â It is no wonder that tears came when Joel saw her for the first time walking down the aisle. Â Congratulations Kelly and Joel! Â And if you ever need a side gig, you could be bride and groom models! Â Thanks again for giving me the great honor to capture your wedding day!
P.S. Â If you have have the option to get a smoke machine for the dancing at your wedding, Do It! Â That reception was AWESOME!
A special thanks to Wade, my second shooter, for all his awesome shots, taking care of the guys, and having an extra flash when mine broke right before the grand entrance! Â I am now the proud owner of a backup flash!
Right before the kiss the minister said, “Joel, set the standard for how every woman should be kissed! You may kiss your bride!” Â He nailed it! 😉
Their wedding was at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga!  Beautiful venue with amazing views of the valley below!
