After 'I Do'

Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!

Welcome!

He woke up that morning wearing his favorite tie-dye shirt and jeans with couch hair to complete the look.  Jeff had buddies in San Francisco that he often hung out with and couch surfing was something he was all too familiar with.  It is never wise to pass up a free couch to crash on in San Francisco (granted you know the owners of said couch).  As he made his way to his car that morning, he spotted Her.  The Her.  It hit him like a ton of bricks.  Something to this day he cannot quite explain. He knew right away this girl would change his life forever. Kelly looked amazing in a business casual pencil skirt, no doubt on her way to work.  They could not have looked more different.  For Kelly, he was a tie-dye wearing couch surfer who needed to get his life together, but cute nonetheless…and somewhat interesting.  They said hello and made small talk for a few minutes and then went their separate ways.  Jeff knew he had to see her again and being that they had mutual friends, immediately started planning how he could causally “bump” into her again.  The next encounter was at a GoPro launch party at Great America.  They reconnected and started dancing to the live music. After an unforgettable time together they parted ways again. Keys.  She had his keys!  She was holding on to them in her purse!  He would have to see her again.  A classic move that works every time.  He returned to her place the next day to pick them up and they have been madly in love ever since.

I should have started by saying, “Grab some wine and popcorn cuz this story is better than anything you will find on Netflix tonight!”

These two are incredible!  Hearts of gold and just a blast to be around!  I can see it in the way they look at each other and hear it in the way they talk to each other.  I can tell they put each other’s needs first.  We had a blast together, along with their dog Bailey, walking the streets of North Beach where Kelly lived when they first met.  We then went to Baker Beach for sunset.  Such an incredible day amongst forecasted rain.  Here is a sample of our day together. Congrats Kelly & Jeff!

All first dates are like interviews…sweaty palms, new outfits, the perfect answers, awkward pauses…so it is not a stretch to say Jillian’s job interview with Karl was in a sense their first date. Jillian was the right fit for the job and several happy hours later their was no denying that they were the perfect fit for each other as well.  It was so fun getting to know this couple currently residing in New York.  There is nothing better than photographing a couple whose love for each other comes out simply in the way they look at each other.  I am so excited to share my very first Engagement Session of 2014!  It was the perfect couple, perfect day, and most wonderful location to kick off the 2014 wedding season!

We hit up my hood for some fun night shots of the San Francsico skyline!  Jillian did a fabulous job timing her leap and executing the vision!
