What better place to come back for an engagement shoot than the stomping grounds where you met? Â She was fairly new to the city and had met a great guy named Joel. Â They were friends…friends, that is until they ran into each other at Bay to Breakers both dawning their wacky Bay to Breaker costumes. Â Whether it was the costume, Kelly’s beautiful smile, or the perfect timing, Joel had to get her number this time. Â That he did and so began their short distance relationship, living just 5 blocks away from each other in the lively Cow Hollow neighborhood. Â Though they are now living outside the city, they had created many great memories within those city blocks.
We started our day at the Palace of Fine Arts, and although I was there to take pictures I couldn’t help but  eaves drop on the history lesson being given by the segway tour guide.  The Palace of Fine Arts, if I heard correctly from a distance, was the World’s Largest World’s Fair.  Built after the 1906 earthquake that burnt the city down, it was a catalyst for returning prosperity to the broken city and for its rebirth…oh, and the pillars are hollow made of chicken wire and plaster…no cement…I think…if I understood correctly.  Crazy right!  He said it is like a Hollywood set!  Back to present day…the historical palace was a great location to start the sesh, but we had to take a walk down memory lane as well!  We started our urban hike around the Marina to Joel’s old condo and then to some of their favorite spots for food and spirits…we also threw a totally gross alley into the mix too.  Why Not?  That reminds me, I need to buy hand sanitizer for my next shoot…who knows where my crazy mind might take me next.  Here are a few of my favorite shots of our day…Enjoy until my next inaccurate account of San Francisco history!
