It was a safe place to meet and plus if she dug his chili they could continue the date by ordering a second latte at Starbucks…and who doesn’t love a little more coffee to get you chatting away on a first date.  It wasn’t exactly his idea to meet for coffee for his first date with the women of his dreams.  He had thought up a fun date…fun, that is, if you are coordinated with sharp blades strapped to your feet on slippery surfaces.  Yes, I think Shannon made a good call to postpone that date for later down the road, but hey if this was the fake world of dating like  “The Bachelor” Jon would probably look into the cameras after their ice skating date and say, “I think we can definitely get through any tough times now that we have conquered ice skating together.”  As it turns out Starbucks was the perfect first date!  They really got to know each other and no doubt they most likely stayed for a second latte 🙂
Shannon and Jon, like most couples started out a little camera shy…but let me tell you, it did not take long before they were absolutely amazing and so comfortable in front of the camera.  I can always tell when the camera kinda disappears cuz I get louder…Not sure how that really makes sense, but as soon as I realize that the “I don’t feel so weird having the paparazzi follow me around” has hit my couple, I turn into a loud mouth Chatty Cathy or Chatty Heather to be fair to all the Cathys out there.  Suddenly my use of descriptive adjectives start flowing out of my mouth like a thesaurus including every cousin of the words “awesome”, “gorgeous”, and “beautiful”. It’s like once I gain their trust and get them having fun, I shout things to bring more attention to them…totally a backwards approach to keeping trust.  😉  Somehow, it works because if you are a Rockstar, then you are a Rockstar and you are used to people shouting at you to “Work It”!  Let me tell you, Shannon and Jon were “working it” and seriously have Rockstar status in my head!  People even approached us on our session asking what we were doing and many were to shy to ask but I know that they were thinking, “this couple must be famous!”
We had a ton of fun at Fort Point in San Francisco, one of my FAVORITE places! Â It was the perfect day to be there as it was chilly enough that it wasn’t crowded, but clear enough that the Bridge was out in all her glory! Â They brought along there dog Copper as well! Â He was soooo ready to hit the beach by the time we finished at Fort Point that we got him running around and having fun! Â Here are a few of my favorites from our session! Â Looking forward to photographing this rockstar couple’s wedding on Cinqo De Mayo!

Hi Heather,
I just wanted to tell you on behalf of myself, my family, and friends what absolutely stunning photos you took of my daughter Shannon and her fiance Jon. You are indeed as talented as Shannon said you were. Your creative eye is amazing. I particularly loved the way you caught the beauty of the architecture as well as the personalities of our children. We all look so forward to the wedding and what I know will be magnificent memories through your photos.
Thanks again for a lovely shoot,
Toni Clundt
