Michael and Virginia met in Providence, Rhode Island where he was attending graduate school at Brown.  Virginia was living there as well after graduating from The Rhode Island School of Design a few years earlier.  After their first date together they knew if was meant to be and have been together ever since.  When Michael graduated, he asked her to move back to San Francisco with him, and while apartment hunting in SF asked her to marry him!

Their wedding was inspired by their desire to bring friends and family together for a summer picnic.  Virginia pulled the entire wedding together under $6,000 thanks to her crafty skills!  She made the burlap table clothes, the flower arrangements, her bridal sash and veil.  They transformed a simple picnic area into a wonderland of romance and chic with all the beautiful vintage details. The ceremony couldn’t have been on a more beautiful slice of San Francisco.  The Chinese Pavilion in Golden Gate Park sits right on Stow Lake with ducks, waterfalls, and the San Francisco fog nestling all around.  It was just perfect!

It was such an honor to photograph their wedding as Michael has been best friends with my brother Joel since they were 6 years old!  As I was editing these photos I was smiling at how grown up my lil’ bro and Michael look.  The way they act is another story 😉  just kidding! kinda.  I am so happy for the newlyweds!!
