After 'I Do'

Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!

Welcome!

Well, it is incredibly hard to imagine that this was my first photo shoot in 13 months due to Covid AND giving birth to twin baby boys! With most of my 2019 weddings getting pushed to 2020 everything seemed very uncertain. But, boy did it feel good to be back out there doing what brings me so much joy! Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOOVE being a mom and caring for our kids, but holy cow…a girl needs her ME time! It’s been a loooong 9 months of surviving 4 kids, 4 and under, during a pandemic, with zero personal time or outlets. I swear, I went through all the phases of grief with photography, wondering if I’d ever shoot another wedding. I needed this engagement session like like a flower needs water. A part of myself that I had put on the back-burner, came back to life when I met this amazing couple for their engagement session!

Caroline and Corbett arrived to Baker Beach looking like they had just stepped out of a catalog. Such a beautiful couple! They both had such warm smiles and I knew instantly that kindness and love were weaved into the fabric of who they are. Making them even more amazing, was that they were game for anything I threw their way even if it meant getting soaked in the ocean…which was purely nature’s fault…and kinda mine čśë I could tell they were having so much fun together and really living in the moment. I never would have guessed that this care-free couple had a huge amount of stress on their plate, wondering if their upcoming March wedding would take place. It warmed my heart to receive their email filled with gratitude explaining that the photo shoot had brought them so much joy and gave them a chance to celebrate their engagement in a way they had not been able to do yet. I loved every second of it too, and cannot wait to see you guys again at your wedding!

You know the saying, “Timing is everything.” ├é┬áThe words that usually make your blood boil if you are on the waiting end of the clock’s slow tick tock. ├é┬áThe only reason we always hear people say that is because, well, it is true…especially when it comes to├é┬áfalling in├é┬áLove. ├é┬áThis Love Story has a prequel starting 10 years before Chapter 1 even begins. ├é┬áSarah & Brandon first met at work. ├é┬áShe was immediately drawn to him. ├é┬áI mean, how could she resist his long hair and braces. ├é┬áAs chance would have it, she was invited to spend a week with him and others├é┬áhouse boating! ├é┬áPerfect right?! ├é┬áIt seems like this trip would have been the catalyst that brought them together…after all you are bound to at least bump into each other every other second on a house boat. Regardless, the timing was not right and they barely spoke after the trip. ├é┬áThe story does not end there, of course. ├é┬áLife has a way of├é┬áworking itself out despite all the twists and turns and unexpected hurdles it throws at you. ├é┬á6 years later, both a little older and a whole lot wiser, they found themselves working at the same company again! ├é┬áCoincidence? ├é┬áI think not! ├é┬áTo Sarah’s surprise, they actually began to talk to each other at work, leading to long phone conversations & texts at night. The fact that they lived 171 miles apart did not stop them from taking their relationship to the next level├é┬áas they spent their weekends driving to see each other. ├é┬áA├é┬ádeep and meaningful connection was developing before their very eyes. ├é┬áThis is the perfect time to introduce the├é┬ákey character in this story. ├é┬áHudson. ├é┬áHe is Sarah’s handsome little son who won Brandon’s heart from the very start. ├é┬áThe three of them had become a tight knit unit and before too long they all moved in together.├é┬á They are all so excited for the wedding! ├é┬áHudson even got to pick out his own wedding ring for the big day! ├é┬áFor this family of 3 the story is just beginning. ├é┬áThere are so many amazing moments to come and I am so excited to document the day when these two families officially unite!

Sarah & Brandon’s photos tell it all. ├é┬áThey are so incredibly in love and filled with├é┬ájoy that is bursting at the seams! ├é┬áI absolutely loved hanging out with these two at the mission murals and Sutra Baths in San Francisco. ├é┬áI am obsessed with all the bright colors the day had to offer from the impactful murals to the beautiful sunset. ├é┬áThese two made the session just perfect! ├é┬áHere is a peek to all the fun we had!
