After 'I Do'

Hello! My name is Heather and I am so happy you stopped by! This blog is a place where I will share love stories of amazing couples who I had the honor of photographing. It is a place where I can express my passion with images where my words fall short. Photography has changed my life drastically and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with this gift. I wish I could say the same thing about my singing voice, but what can you do?!

Welcome!

These two found me through Martin’s cousin, whose wedding I did a couple years back. Martin was the officiant at their Olympic Club wedding, so he and Kathleen were familiar faces when we met to talk about their upcoming wedding. I was super excited to photograph their wedding as I had become quite fond of the Gilson Family and now totally smitten by Kathleen and Martin! They are the perfect match as they complement each other’s personalities so well…and I must add, both hilarious in their own ways! They planned the most epic San Francisco wedding I have ever had the privilege of photographing! They got ready at the Lodge at the Presidio, were married under the iconic rotunda at the Palace of Fine Arts, and had the reception at the legendary San Francisco Film Centre. It was literally a day like no other from start to finish! My favorite part of the day was photographing them under the rotunda and watching her veil take flight! It never once flew off to my surprise, but it sure did make for some fun photos! I am so excited to share these images from their special day!

Angie & Benito are a BLAST!  Dating since freshman year in college, their dream was to have a huge party to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family.  Mission: Accomplished!  They chose St. Ignatius, one of the most beautiful churches in San Francisco to get married in!  The grand aisle, stained glass windows, and handsome groom at the front of the church set the stage as Angie, stunning as can be, walked arm in arm down the aisle with her parents. The sight of her brought tears to Benito’s eyes as well as those who caught a glimpse of the fleeting moment.  It was the first time he’d seen her all day despite building the anticipation with a “first touch” at the Inn at the Presidio.  The ceremony was beautiful and lighthearted as the couple shared private giggles with each other.  Following the vows, A trolly car ride awaited the bridal party and took them to the iconic Palace of Fine Arts for photos!  One of my favorite all time wedding moments was witnessing the 50 yard dash after the flying veil headed straight for the lake.  If I had a gold medal to give out, I would have given it to the groomsmen who caught it mid leap, and the silver definitely would have gone to the bridesmaid who threw off her heels to help chase it down! After some priceless shenanigans at the Palace, we trollied to The Warming Hut Beach for some photos with Karl (nickname for the SF Fog) and the Golden Gate Bridge.  A San Francisco wedding wouldn’t be complete without a reception at The Observation Post in the Presidio, which has sweeping views of the bay!  Waiting to greet the bridal party was a room full of friends and family waiting to party with the newlyweds.  The night was a blast and I’m excited for these two to continue to love life and each other to the fullest! Congrats Angie & Benito!
