Straight Out of Campbell – One sunny afternoon, in 2013, at a street festival in Downtown Campbell, Bill and Erin first crossed paths.  Bill was rolling down the street with his one man crew, when off in the distance he spotted a familiar female crew of two walking in slow motion toward them. It was as if this middle of the sidewalk standoff had been planned all along.  He knew one of them, but it was the other new face that struck him like a bullet from Cupid’s gun.  Am I taking the ‘Straight Out of Compton’ theme too far? No? Awesome.  Harmless, yet lasting introductions were made and everyone carried on in the direction they were heading.  Bill knew he had to see Erin again and as luck would have it, he ran into Erin’s friend later that day and told her, “to put in a good word for me.”  The ‘word’ was received well as Erin proclaimed, “He is my type!”  It gets better!  They bumped into each other again in downtown Campbell while Erin was celebrating her friend’s Bachelorette party.  They talked briefly in a bar, but before Bill could get Erin’s number, she fled the scene as she had a half marathon race the next morning. ‘Straight Out of Cinderella?’  It was not until the following weekend, on an epic Sunday Funday bike ride with other mutual friends that Bill and Erin finally had the chance to get to know each other. They biked and talked for hours that day and that started it all…….they have been rolling together ever since!!!
Rewind 9 years earlier: Â Erin had purchased a bike from Bill’s bike shop and the receipt they found clearly stated that Bill had been the one to sell it to her! Â Coincidence? Â I think NOT!
Erin and Bill share a passion for the beach and biking. Â When they combine the two into one day, explosions of happiness errupt. Â And so, it was on such a day, bikes parked along a beachside bench, a soft ocean breeze in Erin’s hair, Â that Bill got down on one knee and proposed. Â She said YES, and I kid you not, like the final scene of a romantic comedy, they saw a shooting star.
I’ll leave you with that…
