Talk about having the most amazing weekend ever!  Not only was I surrounded by the most beautiful little miracles ever, but I was given the most amazing one year anniversary gift from my husband: an intimate workshop with world famous wedding photography Me Ra Koh!  She is one of the most inspiring women I have ever met!  She and her husband not only gave me the gift of their amazing teachings, but also instilled in me the confidence to let my heart lead my camera, and to let myself shine through each snap of the shutter.  Below are a few of my favorite images from the weekend as I worked with mom’s and their babies as well as parents and their children.  I had a great time playing with the kids and deepening my understanding for my second love; photography.  Through this new passion, I have found new life in myself.  I was so beat down before I picked up the camera from yet another knee surgery!  Yup, count em…3 surgeries to date. With the last surgery  a year and a half ago, I lost more than meniscus, I lost my childhood and adulthood passion: volleyball.  It hit me hard knowing I wouldn’t play again as well as having to cut out the day to day activities I used to partake in.  If I didn’t have activity and fitness, what would fulfill me outside of the daily grind of eat, sleep, work…repeat?  It didn’t occur to me until after I was married that my passion had shifted into a camera.  Healing was taking place on so many different levels in my life!  It felt like a new flame was lit in my heart, and for the first time I discovered a gift.  It was there my whole life I just never payed attention to all the arrows pointing at it all along.  I am thankful it found me again now at the age of 28, when I needed it the most. Whether or not it is what I am supposed to be doing, it is something I have to do for balance, energy, and pure joy.  I just love it, and this weekend with Me Ra made me realize I should be confident in myself and should share my gift with as many people who are open to receive it.  Thank you to the families who helped further my growth and to Me Ra and Brian who taught me so much!
