If you were ever wondering where the beautiful summers of San Francisco leave to every year…look no further! Â Matt and I found them in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Â Blue skies, warm air, and refreshing water to dip in! Â Here are some highlights of what we saw on our road trip from Denver, Co to Steamboat Springs. Â As we were driving in my good friend Amanda and Jr’s 4Runner that they lent us so graciously, Matt noticed that I was starting to drool. Â He suggested we pull over so that I could fulfill my need to capture. Â I looked at him with hesitation in my eyes, and he looked back with that look of, “You are so gonna regret this if we don’t” look and so I said, “Pullover!” Â Below is exactly why we did just that. Â It felt so good to be out of the car that I guess I began to frolic a little. We ran past cars to get some shots and as I was shooting Matt starting screaming and telling me to run! Â My instinct was to scream too…not really knowing why yet. Â But when I took my face out of the viewfinder I realized that I was being attacked by hundreds of mosquitos! Â We were in their territory: hot air, near water. Â So after jumping around we took off running back to the car, but they followed us, those little buggers! Â That was the last time we pulled over to fulfill any needs.
4 days later on our return to Denver, this pond of water was completely dried up! Â Lesson to be learned from this: seize the day because you never know when an opportunity is gonna pass you by.
Matt running from the mosquitos!
So here is a fun fact about me that I would say only a handful of people know…I LOVE clouds. Â Most conversations lead back to the clouds with me. Â “Oh, wow, look at those clouds!” Â or “Those clouds are mind blowing!” Â These shots were taken from inside the car with the sun roof pulled back. Â I was just shooting up! Â I mean these clouds weren’t messing around! Â They were magical! Â It was as though angels were hiding behind them! Â Oh that reminds me, I had cloud wallpaper with an angel border in my room in high school…You’d think I’d be sick of clouds by now! Â From here on out the pictures were taken from the passenger seat leaning across Matt to get the shot!
Jett, (my Matt’s sister) and Matt (Jett’s husband is also named Matt) discovered this perch over looking Steamboat and they named it Happy Hour Rock. Â So on the 4th of July we hiked up to it with beers and watched the sun set with our feet dangling over the edge. Â The sky was hot pink! Â Seriously! Â Again, this place is amazing!
Having some fun!
This fireworks show was advertised all over Colorado as the largest show in the state! Â There were fireworks going off in 5 different locations! Â I saw the whole thing through the lens…pretty amazing! Â I still can’t believe I was able to hand hold the camera at the slow shutter speed and get very little shake. Â I attributed it the the beer in my blood 🙂
The backyard after party that we rode our bikes to. Â This band was great! Â They were playing on a trailer hitch!
Brother and sister! Â So cute! Â Below: I think this is how most people at the party remember that night! haha!
