I am soooo excited to be a part of an awesome wedding blog today called The California Wedding Wave! Â It is so fun to be able to share beautiful weddings, details, and couples with other brides to be! Â Being featured is one of the many reasons that keeps me determined to keep learning the art of photography as it is not only a huge creative outlet for me, but a competitive one too! Â I love competing with myself as it keeps me energized and gives me a reason to always try and improve. Â Every wedding, engagement shoot and family session is no different in my mind from preparing for a volleyball or soccer match… I go into every session mentally and physically (and by physically I mean I do 10 push-ups, kinda like a dude before a first date) prepared as I always want a victory…I live for it. Â I love feeling pressure as much as I hate feeling it…that makes no sense, but it’s what helps me bring my “A” game. Â Every night before a wedding (here is where the mentally comes in) I close my eyes and envision the whole day…although lately this has lead to nightmares of forgetting gear, shooting with a wooden camera, or showing up as the guest forgetting I was the photographer! Â Thankfully these are just dreams and the fictional wooden camera has stayed out of the camera bag. 🙂
