This engagement session was SO EXTREMELY special for me to do! Â Katie is like a sister to me. Â In fact I have known her since she was just a baby as I spent just about every free minute at her house as a kid, therefore making her parents more like my aunt and uncle 🙂 Â Her older sister Amber and I were inseperable as kids back in Fresno and now we both live and SF and are still a big part of each others’ lives. Â I feel so blessed to be a part of one of Katie’s most special days and I couldn’t be more happy for the man that God has blessed her life with. Â They are absolutely PERFECT for each other, share the same values, and have infectious personalities. Â Mike is seriously the nicest guy, who has this pure love and joy in his heart for Katie and for life…it just exudes out of him and it is so refreshing to be around.
I was hiding in the bushes at the Palace of Fine Arts with my spy camera capturing a moment that would forever be one of the most memorable days of their lives: Mike’s Proposal! Â It happened just in front of the huge dome and I was in my spy gear, which probably made me stand out even more, but this is my calling in life: under cover snipering of amazing moments. Â If you see a french looking cab driver hiding in the bushes, you are probably about to get engaged! Â haha! Â Anyway, it was very appropriate that they come back to this special spot and do their engagement session…this time I could be visible which helped get some of these images below 🙂 Â This was a fun session for me for many reasons. Â Amber came along to be a support for Katie, but she got wheeled into holding lights for me…Thanks Wade! Â This was my first time EVER using my new Off Camera Flash equipment. Â I was kinda learning as I went, which was great cuz Mike and Katie were so supportive when I would stop to fidget with the light. Â I am stoked to continue to learn more about the amazing possibilites of off camera flashes!
Katie and Mike, if I remember the story right, met in college in one of their classes. Â Mike’s phone went off in class and it caught Katie’s ears cuz she thought to herself,” that is my kind of guy!” Â What was the song that forever won Katie’s heart you might be asking yourselves? Â The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire Theme song of Course! Â You know you are singing it right now! Â Catchy isn’t it?…Literally! Â It caught Katie’s Heart and they were soon dating and on a journey to fall in love. Â Who would have thought that picking the right ringtone could bring two people together? Â Pay attention to the little things, cuz it can tell you a lot about a person’s personality that might just be perfectly suited for your own. Â That’s all for the Advice Segment by Heather Scharf. Â I hope you enjoy the pics Katie and Mike! Â Love you both and can’t wait for June! Â Yah!
