It all began backstage.  We often get swept away by the romance and story lines of what happens on stage at a theatre production, but in this case, the real love story began behind the curtains.  Kelly and Nick had been working on theatre productions backstage together since Freshman year in high school, but it wasn’t until they were Juniors, that Nick took the next step and asked her to the Homecoming dance.  She said yes and they have been together ever since!  They continued dating long distance in college and once back in the same city they knew their relationship was meant for center stage and got engaged!  For their dress rehearsal, (isn’t that a what engagement sessions really are?) they chose the vibrant and dynamic location of Stow Lake.  The colorful row boats, whimsical trails, and serene lake make this spot a perfect place to get so many different shots!  At sunset we went to the edge of the city to hit up the Sutro Bath ruins.  My all time favorite spot in SF!  The sunset was so magical, that once I positioned them on the edge of the rocky wall, feet dangling above the crashing waves, they stayed there to watch the sun sink and forgot all about the camera.  It is not always about the photos, especially when you are arm in arm with the one you love and have front row seats to Mother Nature’s best show. The best part of the entire day however, was witnessing how giddy and in love these two are! Congrats Kelly & Nick!  Looking forward to the encore performance on September 10, 2016.  Too far with the theatre inuendos?  I thought so 😉
