When I first met with Sarah & Brian to talk about their wedding, I knew that I had just encountered two of the nicest people EVER! So it was no surprise that when I showed up 30 minutes early to Brian’s mom’s house in Hillsborough for their engagement shoot, they welcomed me with open arms and even made an extra seat for me at their dinner table. I was embarrassed but they made me feel right at home 🙂 After a delicious home cooked meal around a beautiful table filled with lots of family and fun stories, we headed to the gorgeous backyard for some photos. It felt like we were in our own private park with large trees and manicured gardens. It was the perfect setting! I especially loved taking their photo with the 1938 Rolls-Royce beauty in perfect working condition that his parent’s drove when they lived in London.
Sarah & Brian’s story started because a mutual friend whom they both have know for ages thought they would be perfect for each other. Boy did they get that spot on! A few years later, Brian proposed in Big Sur at the same beautiful rock formation and ocean cove where they had gone on their second date. He completely surprised her by hand carving a proposal poem into a live edge redwood slab using his grandfather’s carving tools! So incredibly creative and something they can always cherish! When she realized what was happening she began to cry hysterically. Even more special was that he hand picked an emerald ring for Sarah since both their mothers were coincidentally proposed to with emerald rings as well! I love this tradition that Brian and Sarah are starting! It was an amazing time sharing a meal with their families and getting to know these two wonderful people more! I cannot wait to reunite with everyone at their Carmel wedding! Until then, here are a few of my favorites from their session.
