It was all part of a master plan. Â “We have to get Megan and Leland to meet!” was the mutual agreement of Megan and Leland’s friends. Â Although both Megan and Leland had seen and liked each other’s Myspace profile pictures, there was no contact made until they “just so happened” to be going to the same concert one evening with all their friends. Â They had their first official introduction and watched the concert together with star strucked eyes…not for the band, but for each other. Â That night, after the concert, Megan got her first official Myspace message from Leland and so began the love story of the star strucked couple!
Megan and I worked together designing clothes at Gymboree until Leland swept her away to the AMAZING San Diego! Â I was so sad to see her go, but so happy for her to be given the ultimate opportunity to a) live by the beach…not just any beach, cuz San Francisco has a beach…but a beach you can SWIM in! Â b) Use the move as a catalyst to pursue her dreams of doing dance full time by teaching at a dance studio and instructing the Bar Method! Â c) Â LIVE IN SAN DIEGO! Â If it isn’t clear yet, I am dying to move there! Â Matt and I both have a dream as well as an imaginary savings account to buy a house on the beach! Â I could go on about my fantasy of waking up, doing yoga, walking our unborn puppy along the beach, editing last weekends photo session in my basement office…emphasis on Office not CLO-ffice, but I won’t get into that 🙂 Â ahhh…
Back to Leland and Megan! Â So we decided to do their engagement session at Del Mar Beach in San Diego (where my future house is). Â I just loved the train tracks here that ran along the beach! Â We got lucky and had one speed by right at the Golden Hour! What beach shoot wouldn’t be complete without running in the water, a lifeguard stand, and sunset kisses. Â This shoot was so fun! Â I had Matt there to witness me in action for the first time at a shoot…and he carried my stuff! Â Folks, at that moment it got real…I realized after that shoot that I need that kinda help all the time!
Our shoot had quite the audience on the beach I think cuz I was approached by a woman afterwards who told me that if she could do it all over again, she would have had me shoot her wedding, and said that I had a gift. Â I wanted to hug her! Â Hearing those things are the reasons why I haven’t given up on my dreams of taking this side gig to Infinity and Beyond! Â The night ended at a beach side restaurant with lots of celebratory drinks and….Wait for it…They asked us to be in their wedding party! Â Woohoo! Â It was the icing on the cake to a perfect day in San Diego with our dear friends Megan and Leland! Â Matt and I love you guys and cannot wait to be standing up there with you on the Big Day!
